‘About’. Now that’s a tough brief. Write about yourself and you’ll inevitably sound like a dick. Which is why I got a mate and fellow copywriter to describe what I’m all about (while trying not to make me sound like a dick). Her summation was: ‘Knowledge, experience and wisdom of a pro – energy, enthusiasm and ambition of a graduate.’ All I’d say is that I’m addicted to problem solving and take enormous pleasure from selling things. I enjoy managing teams as a creative director and I'm particularly involved with nurturing young talent (I host a lot of workshops with colleges, as well as working closely with the D&AD's excellent Education department). Of course, I also get a real thrill from conceptualising and copywriting myself - still. And you know what? I love this 'creative' business.
